If you attempt to rest at the local establishment, you will find the receptionist missing and a perplexed substitute in their place, initiating a brief but memorable search mission.

Starting the Investigation in Kakariko Village

To begin the quest, players must head directly to the Shuteye Inn situated near the center of Kakariko Village. Upon entering, an NPC named Dai will inform you that the actual owner has gone missing after wandering off to look at local ruins. This interaction officially triggers the side quest and tasks Link with exploring the surrounding cliffsides to track down the sleepy innkeeper.

You will eventually find Olkin completely passed out on top of a stone slab inside a small, open-faced tent setup. Attempts to speak with him normally will prove completely useless, as he refuses to wake up from his deep slumber. A survey team member nearby suggests using a highly aromatic ingredient to finally jar the tired worker awake.

Waking Olkin with Wild Greens

To complete the objective, players need to acquire a specific ingredient known as a Hearty Truffle to catch the sleeping man's attention. If you do not have one in your inventory, these rare mushrooms can easily be found growing inside nearby caves and wells around the region. Simply hold the item in your hands and place it directly next to Olkin's nose on the stone platform.

The intense scent of the fresh mushroom will immediately startle the innkeeper awake, causing him to realize how much time has passed. He will express his deep gratitude for your intervention and immediately sprint back down toward the village center to reclaim his post. This successful awakening marks the functional completion of your outdoor tracking duties.

Claiming Your Rewards at the Shuteye Inn

Once Olkin has departed the camp, players should teleport or glide back down to the village to conclude the business. Return directly to the main counter at the local lodging establishment to find the rightful owner back at his desk. Speak with him directly to receive a token of appreciation for restoring order to the village services.

As a reward for your efforts, you will receive a valuable Energizing Elixir that can aid in future climbing adventures across Hyrule. Furthermore, the establishment will officially reopen for standard business, allowing Link to utilize the beds whenever necessary. Completing this task ensures you have a reliable place to rest and change the time of day whenever you visit the area.
